Crispy Wheat Flour Masala puri recipe

We love mutthari but it is not so healthy option for snacking. Here i will provide you a healthy option of wheat flour masala puri which you can enjoy with your tea or coffe. Infact my kid like to have this puri with Jam or sweet Mango pickle/ chhunda etc. i will post someday recipe of chhunda also.

Ingredients:

500 gms - wheat flour
100 gms - oil for dough
500 gms - oil for frying
50 gms - Teel seeds
salt to taste
1 tbs - red chilly powder
1 tbs - turmeric powder
1 tbs - coriander powder

Method:

1. Take flour in a parat. Make a pit in between and add oil and all the masalas to it. Now slowly add water and kneed a stiff dough of it. Allow the dough to stand for 25-30 minutes.

2. Now make small balls from the dough and start preparing puris from them. You may roll all the puris at once and then fry them. However i used to do both things together because of practise. If you wish to roll the puris first you can take butter paper or simple paper and keep the puris seperately on it so they do not stick to each other.

Now make wholes or fine line cuts to this puri so it won't swell when we fry it.

3. Take oil in a kadhai and start heating it on medium flame. Once the oil is sufficiently hot put 5-6 puris in it at a time..

Fry them with patience on medium to low flame untill they become golden brown.

Turn teh puris 2-3 times while frying.  Now transfer them to a broad vessel and alow to cool.

Once they are at room temperature you can store them in any container. You can use them up to 1 month if fried in ground nut oil. It depends on the oil u use for frying.

Enjoy your healthy snack:-) with a cup of hot tea or coffee..................
